Not A threat to the community”

Cameron Herrin is a student at Tampa Catholic School . He was known for his high morals, respect and humility among his colleagues. He was an ambitious and successful student, he graduated from high school and always dreamed of going to university to continue his education, but Cameron just went through an accident of fate and destiny. After that , his friends and his teachers came to the court in order to testify to him of these special qualities . A good person like him wouldn’t hurt anyone .
They all described Cameron with the best qualities that can be found in a human being .
Here is a brief synopsis of some of what they said .

Keith Aeshback “Cameron’s teacher” :

Cameron is very sympathetic to children his age. He used to come to me not only to talk about his problems but also to help his friends .

Laura Escher “ Cameron’s friend” :

Cameron is one of the most caring people I know . He was honest, positive, respectful, sympathetic to others. He was thinking of sacrificing his life for the two souls that he caused their death

Daniel Knox “Cameron’s friend “ :

Cameron is a selfless person and the only person I can compare Cameron to is my mother . People didn’t want to build friendships with me because of my financial condition, but Cameron was the only one who treated me with respect and always invited me to his house.

Gilbert Melendez “ Cameron’s friend”

Cameron was a happy young man who always had a smile on his face. The most person I know cares about others and feels them. Even after the accident, he was the one who used to start asking me about my condition and reassure me.

Gregory P Holder “ A judge, a family friend and neighbor”

I’ve been a neighbor of the Cameron family for 15 years and watched Cameron grow up. He was respectful and kind to me, my family and all his neighbors. He was a child who didn’t hurt anyone, even animals he didn’t hurt them and he wouldn’t let us hurt them.. Cameron told me of his great regret about what happened and said that this sadness will haunt him for the rest of his life.

At the end of each person’s testimony
Cameron’s lawyer asked them an important question:
Do you think that Cameron would be a threat or danger to the community ?
And they all gave the same answer
They all agreed that Cameron was never a danger to the community .
I would like to mention an important point in the Florida system for classifying prisoners
In the Florida system, the type of prison for a prisoner is classified according to the extent of the danger it poses to society.
which are 4 types of custody :
1 – Close
2 – Medium
3 – Minimum
4 – Community

Cameron has been placed in the first type of custody “close custdy” which is the worst and the most difficult type .
This level prevents its owner from all activities and does not even allow him to leave the prison gate , unlike other levels whose owners can go out from morning to evening with some activities during the day.
Despite people’s good testimonies of Cameron and their confirmation that he is a peaceful human being who will not harm anyone. Although Cameron does not have a criminal record, they put him into the worst type !
Do you think this is fair ?!

Arbitrary judgment and abuse of power

After looking into Cameron’s case, we found it completely unfair! Cameron Herrin was tried as an adult when he was 18.

From our research, we found cases similar to Cameron’s of adults to whom I directed more charges than Cameron, and yet they got much less judgment than Cameron!

Cameron’s case has been treated privately and not in Florida. In terms of arbitrary governance
They had ignored one of the laws in his case, which stated that:
“If two of the accused in the same case are charged to the same extreme, the penalty must be the same.” Why isn’t it applied in Cameron & apos case?

Besides attacking Cameron in the papers, they accused him of racing immediately after the accident, even before the trial was over!

It seems this harsh verdict was only to satisfy public opinion, ignoring all the evidence that’s in Cameron’s favor.
Ignoring his psychological state and suffering from anxiety
He tried to commit suicide several times thinking he would give his soul to the victims until they came back to life.

Here are some cases that resemble the Cameron Herrin case and have received fewer judgements:

Conclusion:
This arbitrary and inhuman provision must be reviewed.
Why would an 18-year-old man be sentenced to two and a half decades in prison? He was sentenced to more years than he lived on Earth.
Punish him but don’t steal his life, give him hope for the future, not deny him life while he’s still alive.

He was jailed for 24 years and has no criminal record, between his murder, rapists and drug dealers. It’s not working. It’s spoiling.

In some cases, the convicted person’s contact with the perpetrators generates aggressive behaviour that is contrary to the intended objective.

It therefore highlights the importance of alternative sentences, which is a positive judicial step to address the behaviour of the convicted person because of the many positive aspects of this, since the penalty of work for the benefit of the community is one of the most important of which is the reform and rehabilitation of the sentenced person by requiring him to work in beneficial projects, thereby distancing him from the disadvantages of imprisonment, mixing with the previous persons and also excluding him from the culture of imprisonment, which often involves long-serving offenders.

Separation from reality/dissipation of personality

We’re all normal people. They’re vulnerable to mistakes. They’re prone to events that can turn our lives upside down, any moment of your life can happen to you unless you expect it.

Today you’re between your family and your colleagues and your loved ones and you’re between criminals and murder in prison.

You’re sure to have a shock you can’t accept, and you’ll expect it to be a dream, and you’ll wake it up any minute, but it’s the truth, and worse if you don’t mean what happened and you don’t even think to do it.

You know, you’re a peaceful person, and you don’t, but people around you don’t know, and they’re just gonna see what happened, and in their eyes you’re the one who’s reckless and wrong and the killer in some cases. You get worse and the pain and grief get deeper. There are many psychological diseases that affect these people from the shock and their impact on them. There are people who heal them through treatments and medication. There are those who cannot heal or leave this time and live with them for the rest of their lives struggling with pain and misery and remain separated from their reality because of a moment that has not been taken into account.

We have a 22-year-old Cameron Herren today. When he was 18, he had a car accident and two people were lost.

Cameron Herren was a typical teenage boy, despite his academic excellence. He ended up with a tragedy that turned his life upside down. Cameron was a responsible child. His teacher described him as someone who cared about his classmates, and he came to him not only to talk about his problems, but also to help his colleagues.

Cameron is one of the people whose lives changed at the moment of sight, transformed from a peaceful, superior, school – graduating, ambitious young man to a reckless murderer.

His psychiatrist stated about the stages of his psychological development, and he said that his condition at first was very difficult, that his mind couldn’t bear the idea that he was the cause of one’s death, that he was seeing the accident over and over again in his mind, that Cameron cried a lot in his therapy and said that the money didn’t make up for what happened and that he felt full responsibility for what happened and for his willingness to do anything to fix the situation, he thought he did.

Dr. Cameron described antidepressant drugs so he could sleep and stay connected to his reality.

Cameron’s disease is called “separation from reality,” defined as a feeling of separation or distance from one’s body or thoughts and emotions.

* Feeling like an external observer of your thoughts, feelings, body or parts, feeling like a robot and losing the ability to control your words and movements.

* Feeling emotionally disconnected from people as if a glass wall were separating you from them.

* A patient’s sense of ambient interference, lack of color, or being 2D or false.

* Confusion in the perception of time and in the estimation of the distance, size and shape of objects.

We are now aware of Cameron’s psychological suffering from 2018 to 2021 and it is possible to this day, in 2018 Cameron was a teenager before his fate and confessed, he stayed at the scene and didn’t run away, he called his mother after the accident and said:He said during his psych sessions that he was willing to do anything to fix what happened, that he would do anything to compensate his family for what they had lost and that he would take care of them in their retirement if he had a chance.

On the day of the courts, Cameron was still calm, despite seeing the outside community, who viewed him as a murderer and a reckless man, and discussed his case, which would determine his mysterious and inevitable fate. He listened to the victims’ family speeches full of hate, hatred and bad words. They addressed him as a deliberate murderer with criminal precedents. We know that losing our loved ones is painful, but that’s no excuse for giving these cruel words to a teenager who didn’t mean what happened and didn’t intend to get hurt. I see that they acted only as an expression of their vengeance and vengeance.

And not only were these cruel speeches, 40-minute videos of the victims’ family and memories together, Cameron was dying a thousand times every minute, he couldn’t hold himself together, he filled his eyes with tears and he cried, neither the victims’ family nor the court cared about Cameron’s mental health, they were demanding maximum penalties despite receiving a huge compensation from Cameron’s family and his friend.

If Cameron unwittingly caused the death of their daughter and granddaughter, they undoubtedly killed him from within deliberately and in front of millions of people, and in those moments his life was effectively over, he was given every hope and all that he could hold on to continue in this life, and the cruel and deadly verdict at the end of the courts brought their revenge and extinguished their hearts, while the fire was burning.

What is the character of young Cameron Hearn? And the opinion of his psychiatrist, neighbors, friends and school teacher about him?

Today, in light of the spread of news and facts through the media and newspapers, the essence of the event must include credibility and the transmission of the entire truth without forgery or distortion. Through the YouTube platform, everyone watched his trial, but this trial surprised the world, as we saw many accusations and injustices that occurred against the American youth at that time. For injustice to be familiar and ordinary, he was judged without knowing the truth of the matter, received hideous and false descriptions, exposed to hate speeches inside the court, and they described him with harsh and painful words,

but we are gathered here to reveal Cameron Herin from the other side and tell what he really is and share the comments of his close friends and neighbors!

Who is Angel Cameron who has exceptional support around the world?

Cameron is an absolutely harmless guy who does not pose any threat to society, and this is confirmed by the words of his neighbors and friends to whom Cameron has always treated with great respect:

“Cameron was always a calm, polite and courteous guy who liked to read a lot and was very curious.”

“He and his older brother Tristan often came to our house to play with my daughter and were always happy to help me mow the lawn.”

⁃ said Mr.Bailey – the man who has been their neighbor for a long time.

Cary Bond has lived across from the Herrins for about 12 years, and her son James Purdy has been friends with Cameron since second grade.

Bond said they were the only boys in the area who insisted on help if we really needed it:

«The whole family is always there when you need them,» – she said.

Bond said the Herrins are keeping a close eye on their boys. Cameron was loved, she said, but preferred to spend time with the close circle of friends he met at NASA’s Explorers Academy at Stewart High School.

⁃ Carey Bond, the mother of James Purdy, who is a close friend of Cameron, talks about it.

“He just respected human dignity,” she said.

“He said that abortion is wrong and that the life of all children should be respected, even before birth. You could say that he was definitely a person who generally respected life»

⁃ said Urdaneta – who is Cameron’s classmate.

and all these words are another confirmation that everything that happened was an accident and Cameron Herrin never wanted to do harm!

As children, Tristan and Cameron often came to Bailey’s house to play with his daughter. Bailey described Tristan as an outdoorsy type and a “tinkerer” who actually enjoyed mowing the lawn and trimming weeds. Cameron was more bookish and spent

Laura Asher: lives in North Tampa, a student at the University of Florida, studying international affairs, she met Cameron in biology in the year August 2108 in high school, they became friends after that.. She described Cameron as the most cheerful, generous and caring person she knows, she says he is a persistent person who does Everything to reach the best, always helping people, always by everyone’s side when they need him, known among his family and friends as being friendly and always positive, she always says I can text and call Cameron at any time, and he always listens to me and talks to me about anything on my mind, she always says when I remember the time we spent together at school I hope those days come back again, I like to go back to the memories when we used to have fun and laugh and play with Cameron and his good spirit in his previous teenage years, she says Cameron became like family to me through our high school and even joining college, we lived together times I was really impressed by his flexibility and strength in dealing during those years, Cameron was a living example of toughness and courage in everything, Cameron is a character with high morals and a loving nature and this is what makes him a wonderful human being, Cameron is a kind and respectful person and did not mean to Never hurt anyone…

Daniel Knox: Lives in Tampa, has been Cameron’s friend and has known him for ten years, he met Cameron in the sixth grade, he says I was an outcast among many and left Cameron like a permanent mark on me, because he didn’t care about who I was, and treated me with respect, described Cameron as welcoming everyone, and left his mark in Inside me and from there we became friends, we remained friends all those ten years to this day, Cameron described as the only person I can compare him to is my mother, he is often very nice..

: Gepro Melendzi

I’ve known Cameron for ten years, I met him

on the first day of middle school, sixth grade, we became friends from day one, he drove me home because I didn’t have a car, that’s how we started getting closer, he described Cameron as a popular and happy boy, I always see the smile on his face He was very caring even after the accident, he was always asking about me, he is a very caring person and never selfish, he always puts everyone before him, after the accident he lost that smile, we talked how sorry he was and wished everything would come back, and he didn’t mean to do anything bad that day.

Keith Ashbeck: He has been a high school teacher for 23 years, and nowadays he teaches at Catholic High School in Tampa and has been there for seven years, studying the sacraments which are pretty much all theology courses. He started getting to know Cameron since he was young. He was a fun kid who always smiled and cared for his classmates, also very deep especially in the courses, he was a friend to anyone looking for his friends, he was just a really good kid, he says he was a frequent visitor to my classroom as he came to him a lot to talk not only about his own problems Even helping his classmates in various issues, he was dealing with compassion with others was wonderful and much more than children of his age, he described him as a kind soul who would not hurt anyone .. He is very sorry for what happened, he was remorseful and sad and I was in contact with him on the phone And I was praying for him.. I think that because of his tenderness he does not pose a threat to anyone.. and I am sure that he will spend the rest of his days doing good as a kind of penance for the horror that happened, and for the loss of those lives..

Sherrill Hearn: His mom says Cameron has friends who always meet in our house and play video games, and we were happy to have them. When Cameron got out of prison after the accident, his father, Chris, was sleeping with him in the room because he was distracted, because all the weeks that passed were like PTSD, anxiety, fear, and pain. I could hear his screaming all night, the nightmares did not leave him, at night he had a shock of anxiety and fear, and for the past three years Cameron had been feeling remorse that did not leave him. I know he will live the memory of these situations for the rest of his life.

After all the horrific chaos that prevails in the world, I had long ago reached the conviction that the United States of America is the best country ever when it surrounds its people with care based on justice and democracy, as if it were a country without mistakes.. But the trial of the young Cameron Hearn came like a thunderbolt.. The truth was a great shock to assure us that everything we think is wrong. Influence prevails over everything and lies are superior to the truth. Is it possible that there is no place in this universe for our children to live life as it is, or that exclusion has become the only controlling language of the era! The American judiciary is a great betrayal that kills life ..!

Forensic evidence used in court

I am well aware that the issue we will be talking about is of great importance in the world and not only in the Community of Tampa, Florida, we will leave the pen that reflects all the injustices that this humanitarian issue has been subjected to. We’re going to give you a holistic view of the facts of this case to highlight its importance.

Because the case dealt with a great injustice until I reached this unjust judgment

We’re going to review facts that prove the great injustice that happened and explain it to you as follows. This case exposed florida’s judicial system.

John and Cameron were arrested.

For vehicle murder and illegal racing charges.

When the prosecutor took over the case, he said That John and Cameron shared the same guilt as the prosecutor sent a perfectly identical offer about the incident, but John, 6, and Cameron, 24, were sentenced. Where is justice?

It’s been three years to look for evidence against Cameron Herrin, but they haven’t found

What did they do to the inhumans they used John under threat, either testify against Cameron or he’ll receive a 30-year sentence, after which John contracted the prosecutor and the victims’ family lawyer to testify against Cameron and receive a six-year sentence. The attorney general refused to give Cameron a deal, and the attorney general’s bias was unjustified!!! Cameron’s lawyer said. In the United States, the way prosecutors work is so shameful because they don’t care about justice.

Their goal is to close the case to ease the expenses for the state. Accidents are all over the world, on a daily basis, and in Florida itself, there are a lot of cases similar to Cameron’s. Bayshore Street, Beshur Street, has been the subject of many traumatic and neglected incidents by officials for many years, including the 31-year-old Jericka Chanel case.

In court, Cameron’s lawyer asked the cop about his presence at this meeting. The cop seemed nervous and confused. He replied no. The answer was full of mistrust. But what he didn’t hear was that John bereno said that there was no race, but that they wanted to prove Cameron guilty in any way. S bizarre and astonished at what they did not Cameron herein, they used a conversation between him and his friend a month before the incident as evidence against Cameron. How are they used in court? There was no race word, there was just a word, there was abet, and the bet they were betting on is minicraft. There was no evidence of his conviction in court, so that judgment seemed pretty harsh

Bayshore Street has suffered many painful accidents, and it has been abandoned by officials for many years. Among them are the terrible accidents of 31 – year – old Gerica Chanel , a terrible accident that led to the death of a 4 – year – old girl and a 24 – year – old young man . In addition, Gerica was required to take 7 years of supervision outside of prison. I will try to summarize this issue for you , although it cannot be absorbed into a few pages because of its severe injustice . I will annex to you a report prove that the accident is not approved and not a race , as the media and newspapers have said Jessica also explains her responsibility for herself and her childhood as she passed the street , the danger of the coming of cars , and the testimony that she had a right to cross ended her life, her child’s life, and the lives of teenagers Cameron and John because of her careless and reckless decision

Also, surprisingly in the case, Mark Lewis, an eyewitness to the tragedy, said the Mustang driver “Cameron” was unable to see the woman “Jessica” because John blocked Cameron’s view, so this is what we call an accident. ??

As made clear through the report, this is not a race and very impossible. To be proactive because it is very difficult for the insurance company to accept the $5 million payment. The insurance company accepted that they pay Cameron the deposit, which is definitive proof that she is not a race! Those who live in the United States know how the insurance policy works, so think a little about it.. The black box was taken from a non-technical person, and two weeks after the accident, so it is considered inaccurate, so the defense attorney objected to it. .

It is horrific against humanity. A meeting and agreement was made between John Perino and his lawyer with the policeman, the attorney general and the lawyer for the victims’ family, Reisinger, and it was agreed to give John 6 years in exchange for his confession to the race and testimony against Cameron. This deal was successfully completed.

In court, Cameron’s lawyer asked the policeman about his presence at this meeting, the policeman seemed nervous and confused, he answered “No”, but his answer was full of distrust, but what he didn’t think was that John Perino stated that there was no race, but they wanted to prove the accusation On Cameron anyway.

Oddly enough, what they did to Cameron Hearn. They used a conversation between him and his friend a month before the accident as evidence against him. Cameron and John have been betting on Minecraft, and this game is among his favorite games on Facebook, this chat is fake proof How is it used in court? And in its content there was no word referring to race, all there is a word for a bet, and this bet that they are betting on is Minecraft to present any evidence before the court that proves his guilt definitively, so this verdict seemed to everyone. harsh judgment.

All parties in this case are also municipal officials responsible for this accident, because they did not take into account the seriousness of this street, although there have been many complaints from Tampa residents for several years due to its seriousness and the large number of accidents in it, so they blamed everything on a teenager!!!!

John is also responsible when he sees the mother and daughter going the other way, forcing Cameron to change course and crash into them.

In all countries of the world pedestrians who cross from anywhere other than the pedestrian crossing are held accountable, and the responsibility is full on them.. It is remarkable and difficult that the teenager Cameron received the injustice and arbitrariness of the judge. From his authority and did not judge justice..

The judge did not take into account that Cameron has no criminal record and no speeding offenses, and also ignored his regret, grief and young age. Why did he not take him into account?

Cameron is an intelligent person and a person who is very popular with his friends and teacher, and they praise Cameron Herren as a very good person, and his psychiatrist has proven well the extent of Cameron’s influence, collapse and extreme fatigue during three years

Take a look at Cameron’s photo with some of the best students and it shows he’s a sane and bright guy who can’t hurt anyone It was just a coincidence There’s no reason to ruin his future He deserves another chance

Judge Nash ignored the huge settlement amount of 6 million and 500 thousand dollars that was paid from the two families of the two children as a settlement for the manslaughter that the world could feel in his family. that.

Getting the $6.5 million, and then demanding the maximum sentence for a boy who didn’t mean to hurt the victims, does it justice.

We noticed at the beginning of Jessica’s father’s testimony his anger at the defense attorney for Cameron Hearn for mentioning the settlement amount before the judge. Since the family considers what happened a heinous crime and not a wrongful killing, why do they accept the money? I am still in awe and amazement at this human cause Aila Robinault Although three years have passed, they pretend to be perfect as if they have done nothing wrong in their lives, hate still permeates their hearts. They accuse Cameron of being a terrorist and criminal, and have a track record of violating international law. The victim’s family used to tell the judge that speeding is a form of terrorism because it puts the lives of many people at risk, but does the same apply to them because they have experienced speeding violations? Should such an 18-year-old be imprisoned! They accuse others of speed and recklessness and they are the people of (speed and recklessness) What is this injustice? .

There are various factors that the court failed to consider

There are various factors that the court failed to consider :

1-Adolescent Brain Development

New findings in developmental psychology and neuroscience reveal that a fundamental reorganization of the brain takes place in adolescence. In postnatal brain development, the maximum density of gray matter is reached first in the primary sensorimotor cortex, and the prefrontal cortex matures last. Subcortical brain areas, especially the limbic system and the reward system, develop earlier so that there is an imbalance during adolescence between the more mature subcortical areas and less mature prefrontal areas. This may account for typical adolescent behavior patterns, including risk-taking.

2-Cameron’s Background

If someone commits a crime, the law requires that his or her background be investigated. Even though Cameron’s teacher and neighbor, as well as many of his friends, attested to his high morals and he does not threaten society, the judge refused to accept their testimony, Although the law mandates that the offender’s history be checked.

3-Cameron’s Remorse

According to the law of the United States, the perpetrator must be examined to see if he feels regret or not. Cameron has been suffering from anxiety and insomnia since the accident which was corroborated by the doctor during the trial when he testified that Cameron suffers from separation from reality and has visited me several times.

The fundamental concepts of justice, fairness, and equality lie at the foundation of our criminal justice system. When it comes to imposing sanctions on persons who have committed criminal offenses, their application is very crucial. For the sake of fairness and equality, people who have committed the same or similar offenses should be sentenced in the same way.

These photos prove to us the fact that John was the one who caused the accident, as we see how he veered off the road, which his car prevented Cameron from seeing the victims

How does the law punish Cameron with the most severe punishment, even though it was John who caused that accident, not to mention the streets of Tampa, which the residents of that city have long been complaining about and demanding reform for years, that Cameron is the scapegoat for John’s mistake and neglect of the municipality?

Is this American Justice ? (French journalist article)

A post arrived on my FYP on TikTok yesterday and the image of this young man haunts me. I cannot get this 21 year old boy’s frightened eyes out of my head. Can you imagine his hell in USA prison?

Cameron Herron, an 18 year old “boy”, ploughed into and killed a mother and her daughter while street car racing at over 100 miles per hour. There are no excuses. This is an appalling and terrible tragedy that just shouldn’t happen. But it did. And sadly in this imperfect world, it happens more often than we would like.

I have 4-children and an amazing wife. I would be devastated if this happened to me or my family – either as the victim or if MY son was the perpetrator.

I look at this clean cut young man standing before a judge and being told he is to serve 24-years for his actions. His sentence is longer than he’s lived on the planet. His life is ruined.

Imagine how he processes what he’s done. His sleepless nights. It’s an awful sentence on his family and his young life … even before the judge orders him to serve 24-years. His family sit behind him in Court – clearly a loving, good, supportive American family. He comes from a good home.

In another story, in 2019, an American military officer’s wife, Anna Sacoolas, while stationed in Northamptonshire in the U.K., killed a 19-year old U.K. boy, Harry Dunn, while driving on the wrong side of the road. For those that do not know, the USA drives on the right and the U.K. on the left hand side of the road. She says she simply forgot. She was also speeding.

She was immediately whisked out of the U.K. under the rules of ‘diplomatic immunity’ by the military, back to the USA, before she could be questioned or processed for this crime by the police, and refuses to return to the U.K. to stand trial. The USA Govt. right up to (then) President Donald Trump, supports her actions.

She simply (apparently) made a mistake. We should forgive her, they say. The trauma she endured is enough and will live with her the rest of her life. She has been formally charged in the U.K. with murder. She will probably never stand trial – protected by diplomatic immunity and a USA government that equally saw fit to incarcerate Cameron for 24-years for a similar mistake. Is this justice?

Anna is a mature lady and mother – Cameron was a boy. She ran from her crime – Cameron accepted his fate and confessed. She hid behind the USA Government – Cameron stood before his government and took his medicine.

Our criminal justice system speaks of REHABILITATION. How is a 24-year sentence rehabilitation … it’s pure (evil) punishment.

I am not stupidly unaware of the effect of his actions on the family of the deceased. Nor the effect on the family of Cameron. Both families are suffering.

But I can’t help compare the USA’s treatment of a serving ‘diplomat’ to that of a boy. She wasn’t even serving in any diplomatic scenario, she was the wife of someone serving. I do not know enough about the rules of diplomatic indemnity, but how is she protected? She has not issued papers to the diplomatic office of the UK, her husband has.

18-year old kids make stupid mistakes. The negative hateful comment section of this TikTok post leaves me cold. Why is America so unbalanced in its view of things? So angry. America loves retribution it seems. If Cameron is guilty … and deserves such a harsh penalty for one poor decision – how does Anna get off scot-free? How can people say – “ 24-years is insufficient” … and mean it?

Some will argue it’s not his first street car incident. How is that material? It wasn’t premeditated. It really was an accident caused by a poor error of judgment. My son gave me sleepless nights because of some of the incredibly stupid things he did when he was 18. He’s 26 now and I still worry about his safety. But his errors were not unlike the stupid things I did at 18. Fortunately neither I or my son killed anybody, least of all ourselves.

I used to race home from my army camp when given a weekend pass. We all did. About 16 cars and drivers, every seat of each car filled with the bum of a serving soldier on weekend pass. Once home we had to call an agreed friend on a landline to confirm we were home and have a family member speak to prove the validity. This was to prevent a call from a call box on the way home. It was a serious competition. The winner got his petrol (fuel) and a takeaway meal paid for. It was a bit of fun and rivalry. The Automobile Association said the distance should take 3 hours and 40 minutes. My record was 1 hour and 29 minutes. I was the group hero. I was an idiot. I was 19. We were lucky. Nobody died. But like Cameron, it so easily could have happened. We were young, dumb and full of cum. (Pardon my French).

Punish Cameron. Yes. Certainly. But locking him up for 24-years is pointless and counterproductive. What does it help. It doesn’t bring the dead family members back. And it teaches this boy nothing concerning his actions. What can he possibly learn in prison.

Perhaps make him ‘serve’ the affected family for 20-years. Perhaps speak to other kids who’ve just received driving licenses, combined with house arrest. Clearly the father of the diseased mother and child is going to need help with household chores and cooking etc after losing his wife. Do they have other children that need assistance? The boy would have to learn to live with the family he affected. The husband will learn to forgive the boy. So many creative options exist. But spending taxpayers money on incarcerating a kid for a lifetime is compounding an already bad situation into another wasted life.

There are real criminals on the streets of the USA. Cameron is not criminally minded. He’s recklessly fun loving. That’s his crime.

He’s certainly no more a criminal than Anna Sacoolas. She walks around ‘free as a bird’. It doesn’t seem fair somehow.

Am I alone in my view. Why is this affecting me so much? Could it have been my son standing before that judge? Or me.

This is a sad moment for American justice in my opinion.

Quote from the French author’s page:

https://link.medium.com/9KwP1znGtib

‏They blamed their failure on teenage Cameron and evaded public accountability

Bayshore Street has been known since the past and until now for causing many problems and accidents that occur on it. We can say because of the neglect of this street by the municipality, and we all know that Bayshore Road needs to be repaired, and because of this street there are victims, including Jessica and Lilia and another victim, Cameron, so they don’t take into account the negligence of the municipality

Why ruining the life of this little boy because of the municipality’s fault?!

Why the state put all their negligence on Cameron! Do they evade responsibility and the media in Tampa? And they want to cover up their scandals?

This street has been exposed to many accidents and is known to be a dangerous street. Cameron’s accident was not the first on this street and due to the negligence of the authorities, it led to the causes of many victims, but they made Cameron a scapegoat to cover their mistakes

How can Jessica and Lilia take their full right by ignoring the other causes that led to their deaths? Someone else, Cameron, will be punished with such a cruel punishment. Do you know why ?because simply you neglected your streets it turned to a danger!

Why didn’t the authorities care about the safety of citizens and didn’t establish a pedestrian crossing earlier?

Why does Cameron alone bears this responsibility? The municipality must also bear the responsibility

A public road, and pedestrians have no right, the fault is borne by the municipality, not Cameron, as it is a place not designated for crossing on a highway known for frequent accidents? Why didn’t the municipality put a traffic or pedestrian signal? Are you waiting for someone to die to put up traffic lights or pedestrians?

But we must look positively, and take a look at the street where the accident occurred

This incident led to many developments that would not have occurred otherwise

So Cameron should be given another chance and must be forgiven.
